On the sidelines of his participation in the signing ceremony of Algeria's accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Mr. Ahmed Attaf held bilateral talks with Philippine Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms.Maria Teresa Lazaro in Kuala Lumpur today.

The meeting was devoted to reviewing the state of Algerian-Philippine relations and the prospects for further boosting them, especially in the economic fields, in the context of preparations for the upcoming bilateral elections. The two ministers also discussed ways for the Philippines to contribute to strengthening the partnership between Algeria and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on the occasion of its assumption next year of the rotating presidency of this regional organisation.
