Ms. Salma Bakhta Mansouri, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, participated in the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the founding of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) at the Embassy of Madagascar in Algiers.
The ceremony was attended by Ms. Jenny Rafalimana, Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Madagascar, in her capacity as the incoming Chair of SADC in Algeria, and His Excellency Ambassador Fosumozzi Ntonga, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe, in his capacity as the outgoing Chair of the Group, along with members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria.
On this occasion, Ms. Mansouri reaffirmed Algeria's commitment to supporting SADC's efforts to promote regional integration and economic transformation in Africa, noting that the African Union's Agenda 2063 represents a common reference for achieving the continent's aspirations for unity, prosperity and peace.
She also highlighted that Algeria's hosting of the 2025 African Intra-Trade Fair from 4 to 10 September will be a pivotal moment for intensifying economic cooperation and strengthening partnerships, thereby contributing to advancing African integration.
