Yesterday, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, chaired a working meeting dedicated to the trade sector and the strengthening of mechanisms to regulate the national market.

The President gave orders and instructions to increase vigilance in supplying the national market with various needs, in order to avoid any form of fluctuation or scarcity affecting widely consumed goods.

The President of the Republic also stressed the need to work with the necessary rigour to meet the needs of citizens and to respect and apply the laws of the Republic in order to ensure the continued fight against fraud and speculation and to protect the livelihoods of Algerians.

The President praised the integrity of the majority of economic operators and farmers and their prominent role in supporting the state's efforts to regulate the market.

The meeting was attended by Acting Prime Minister Mr. Sefi Ghrib, Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, Deputy Minister to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, Mr. Boualem Boualem, Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Ministers of Finance, Agriculture, Industry, Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation, Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Pharmaceutical Industry, as well as the Adviser to the President of the Republic in charge of the Directorate General of Communication, the Director General of Internal Security, the Acting Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the Head of the Organisation and Supply Department of the People's National Army, the Director General of National Security, the Governor of the Bank of Algeria and the President of the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions.

The meeting was also attended by the presidents and directors-general of the Algerian Professional Grain Office, the National Professional Milk and Dairy Products Office, the Agrodif Group, Naftal, the Central Pharmacy for Hospitals, the Agrolog Food Industry Group and the Saidal Company.
