 The Consulate General of Algeria in Geneva hereby informs members of the Algerian community residing within its jurisdiction that, in accordance with the instructions of the country's highest authorities  aimed at ensuring the best possible care for members of the national community abroad, the exceptional measure allowing Algerian citizens holding valid foreign passports to enter and leave the national territory without the prior requirement of a visa has been extended until 31 December 2026, in accordance with the following conditions:

-    Travel with a valid foreign passport, accompanied by an Algerian biometric passport or an Algerian biometric and electronic national identity card (CNIBE), even if it has expired; 
-     For minors (aged 15 and under) who do not have Algerian biometric documents and who are travelling with their parents and/or guardians, they must be accompanied by civil status documents (family record book, family civil status certificate, etc.), proving their relationship and/or documents proving guardianship (guardianship agreement, court order establishing guardianship, etc.);
-    Persons whose identity on their foreign passport does not match their national documents must present:

    A certificate of identity issued by the civil registry office of the consulate general in the case of minor errors;
    Court rulings in the case of significant differences (e.g. difference in name). 

Important note: When leaving the national territory, our dear citizens must use the same travel documents that were presented upon entry.
