As part of a series of regular meetings with the heads of consular posts abroad, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for the national community abroad, Mr Sofiane Chaib, held a coordination meeting today, 22 April 2026, via video conference, bringing together the heads of our diplomatic and consular missions in Europe, North America and the Arab region.

This meeting forms part of the ongoing preparations for the upcoming summer season and the follow-up to the implementation of the outcomes of the recent consular symposium.

The meeting was dedicated to assessing the readiness of our diplomatic and consular network in Europe, the Americas and the Arab region to ensure the return of members of the national community under the best possible conditions, as well as reviewing efforts to modernise consular services and improve their quality.

In this regard, the Secretary of State issued guidelines aimed at enhancing the quality of consular services and strengthening communication with the national community abroad, thereby reinforcing their ties to the homeland.
