The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr Ahmed Attaf, received today at the Ministry’s headquarters the US Deputy Secretary of State, Mr Christopher Landau, who is on an official visit to Algeria. 
On this occasion, Minister Ahmed Attaf held a private meeting with Mr Christopher Landau, followed by extensive talks involving members of the two delegations.
These discussions were devoted to reviewing the dynamic nature of the various aspects of Algerian-American relations and exploring ways to further strengthen them by enhancing strategic dialogue and consolidating partnership in priority areas of cooperation, such as energy, investment, innovation, trade, agriculture, air transport and higher education.  
The two sides also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, foremost among which were developments in the Sahel-Saharan region and the latest developments in the political process aimed at resolving the Western Sahara issue.
