The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for the Algerian diaspora, Mr Sofiane Chaib, is on a working visit to the United States of America, which began on 5 May 2026, by travelling to San Francisco, where he presided over the official inauguration ceremony  of the Consulate General of Algeria in that city, in the presence of the Consul General and a number of representatives of Algerian community organisations active within the San Francisco consular district.
