The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, participated Thursday in Cairo in the Ministerial Meeting of the Tripartite Neighboring Countries Mechanism on Libya, alongside the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, and the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the three ministers to consult on the latest developments in Libya and explore ways to help advance the sisterly country's political settlement process.

The ministers also listened to a briefing by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Hanna Tetteh.

Furthermore, they discussed ways to support UN efforts to find a lasting and final solution to the Libyan crisis.

The ministerial meeting concluded with the adoption of a joint statement, which emphasized that a comprehensive, UN-backed political solution is the only path to ending the division and safeguarding Libya's unity, security, and sovereignty, free from all forms of foreign interference.
