On May 13, 2026, in Algiers, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lounes Magramane, co-chaired the third session of the Algerian-Slovak political consultations with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Mark Estock.

On this occasion, the two sides commended the progress made since the previous session of this mechanism and reviewed the current state of cooperation between the two countries and ways to advance it to broader horizons, particularly in the fields of energy, higher education, scientific research, industry, tourism, and investment, in preparation for upcoming bilateral events.

The two sides also exchanged views on the most important developments regarding current regional and international issues of concern to both countries, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East, Western Sahara, and the Sahel region
