The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lounès Magramane, received yesterday at the Ministry's headquarters, Abdulhakim Rajab Elwaer, Assistant Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), who is visiting Algeria to participate in the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) held in Algiers from 19 to 22 May 2025.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the reality and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Algeria and this UN specialized organization, especially in the fields of its competence, such as agriculture, irrigation and environmental protection, as well as recalling Algeria's active role at the level of various relevant mechanisms.

The two sides also stressed the importance they attach to intensifying efforts to support projects with a regional dimension in the region as well as strengthening the activities of the FAO office in Algiers.
