On the sidelines of his participation in the third meeting of African Union-European Union Foreign Ministers, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Mr. Ahmed Attaf held talks in Brussels yesterday with High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union (EU) Mrs. Kaja Kallas.

The talks aimed to reviewing the various aspects of the cooperation and coordination relations between Algeria and the European Union, with a view to reactivating and revitalizing the institutional mechanisms that frame the Algerian-European partnership. The two sides also discussed the revision of the Association Agreement between Algeria and the European Union (EU) in order to ensure the desired balance in this partnership, especially in its economic component.

On the same occasion, the two sides exchanged views and analyses on a number of current issues, notably the developments in Libya in particular and the tensions in the Sahel-Saharan region in general.
